Warrior golfer makes school history by reaching state championships

Freshman Yuki Yoshihara made Warrior History this week as the first golfer to ever compete at the State Championship.

She finished 19th of the 54 best players in California.

She had to go through our Pacific Coast League Finals, and 3 different CIF tournaments to qualify.

WHS Girls Lax Second Chance Tryouts

Woodbridge Girls Lacrosse will be holding tryouts for the 2015-16 season on TUESDAY DECEMBER 1ST - AT 3PM AT THE WHS ATHLETIC FIELDS.

All athletes interested in playing lacrosse next year who are not currently in the program are welcome to participate in tryouts. You must register at http://goo.gl/forms/HVpSnIM8r0 prior to attending the tryout.

Athletes participating in Winter sports (soccer, basketball, water polo, wrestling, etc.) should attend the tryout if their practice schedule will allow it. If not, please contact me.

No previous playing experience is required to participate in tryouts. If you have cleats, please bring them along with running shoes, although you may participate in tryouts with just running shoes. Bring lacrosse stick, goggles, and mouthguard. Players new to the sport and without their own equipment are welcome to participate in the tryouts and will be checked out equipment for use at the tryout.

If you have friends who are interested in joining the team, please encourage them to attend the tryout and give it a try. We are always looking for girls with the hustle, drive, and desire to help this program keep moving forward!

WHS Coach Recipient of this Year’s Coach of Character & Honor

Congratulations to our own Kirk Harris for being the recipient of this year’s Coach of Character & Honor presented Monday night, November 16^th, by the Orange County Athletic Directors Association.  Kirk has coached many sports at Woodbridge High over his 34 years, including football and baseball.  As a teacher and coach of high standards, Kirk will be retiring at the end of this year as a coach and Department Chair of the Physical Education department.  Congratulations Kirk!

WHS Cross Country has stong finish in league

WHS Cross Country finished at the top in the Pacific Coast league after league finals last week. They ended up winning 4 out of the 6 team League championships titles, and all 6 of the individual championships titles.

Boys Tennis Tryouts

Boys tennis tryouts will be held on Tuesday, December 1st. It will start at 3:20 at the Woodbridge HS Tennis Courts.
